At Nightingale Home Support, we believe that good care begins with something very simple: treating people as you would want someone you care about to be treated.

We provide Care at Home services across Moray, supporting people to remain independent, safe and comfortable in the place that matters most to them – their own home.

But Nightingale is not only about the people who receive our care. It is equally about the people who provide it.

We know that Care Workers carry a great deal of responsibility. You are welcomed into someone’s home, trusted with their wellbeing and often become an important and familiar part of their day. That deserves recognition, respect and proper support.

More than completing a care visit

For us, care is not a checklist.

It might mean helping someone get ready for the day, supporting them with medication or preparing a meal. But sometimes the most important thing you do is listen, notice that something has changed, share a laugh, or simply give someone the reassurance that they are not alone.

That human connection is what makes Care at Home special.

We therefore look for people with the right attitude first. Experience is valuable, but kindness, reliability, patience and genuine respect for other people cannot simply be taught in a classroom.

A team where your work matters

We want our staff to feel that they are part of Nightingale, rather than simply a name on a rota.

That means providing training and support, listening when something isn’t working and recognising the responsibility our Care Workers take on every day.

We also believe in being clear about what you can expect from us. We pay for the full scheduled visit rather than reducing your pay when a visit happens to finish early. We contribute towards travel time between visits and pay mileage when you use your own vehicle for work.

Because if we expect our Care Workers to value the people they support, we should value our Care Workers too.
